Joe and Keren are both committed to the development of individuals, and through appreciative inquiry, the growth of sustainable organizational capacity. Some colleagues describe them as pragmatic constructivists, but those people tend to be really, really bookish. Keren likes to say that they care about people being in their ‘flow’. Joe doesn’t like words that rhyme with his name.
Their workshops are uplifting, their analysis clear-headed, and their writing… words fail us.
The aesthetic informing this blog and our work in the education field is one of Wabi Sabi, interpreted at the simplest level as “beauty in imperfection” and a commitment to appreciating the journey of improvement and change. We find the sensibilities of this aesthetic particularly helpful for leaders guiding their organizations during a period of significant change.
